Reese Witherspoon seriously pursued her acting profession after she enrolled at Stanford University. In her early career, she was in roles in movies like Pleasantville or Election. But it came in Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a significant pivotal moment in her career. Witherspoon received an Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. Her most recent films include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild with which she won yet another Oscar nomination. Her success has also been extended to the world of television. She was a co-star on David E. Kelley's Award-winning TV show Big Little Lies and a producer. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon on March 22 1976 at New Orleans Louisiana. In the 2003 film The Invisible Man she had her debut feature-length character. Following that, she was on various TV shows like House of Lies Whitney or Better Call Saul. In addition to her acting profession, she has appeared in films like The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Alongside her acting career she is an experienced painter who exhibits her work at several galleries.
